TYP: NEW WAYS OF SEEING CHAIRS

In need of a reboot, furniture brand TYP asked us to help them with their relaunch. Bored with sterile interior design aesthetics, we were searching for a fresh approach to presenting furniture and devised a campaign to highlight the brand’s disruptive positioning. Shot on location in Noto, Sicily and at hotel Château Royal in Berlin the resulting images portray the brand’s two most important models in unconventional scenarios.

ADDING CONTEXT: TYP MAGAZINE

The relaunch was accompanied by a 36-page brochure which included two short essays from Jasmin Jouhar and Adriano Sack who we asked to share their reflections on TYP’s designs and their relevance to modern environments.

SETTING THE SCENCE AT CHÂTEAU ROYAL

Dark stained wood, upholstered seats, a slanted back to lean on: guests at Berlin’s latest luxury hospitality venture get to experience TYP chairs at their best in the Château Royal’s dining rooms. Naturally, we chose the hotel’s art-filled ambiance as the location our photo shoot, arranging the food and furniture just so to break away from stale interior photography.

A SHOWROOM IN VENICE

To mark the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, we co-produced TYP’s showroom during the 18th Architecture Biennale in Venice. Visitors had the opportunity to explore TYP’s furniture collection, pick up the magazine, and chat with the team, who were sporting a t-shirt exclusively designed for the occasion.
